UNESCO Adopts Open Access Policy

Veröffentlicht am

The Open Access policy, which was adopted by the organization's Executive Board in April, means "that anyone will be able to download, translate, adapt, distribute and re-share UNESCO publications and data without paying". The aim of the new policy is to enhance the visibility, accessibility and speed of distribution of UNESCO publications: "Equal access to science is not only a social and ethical requirement for human development, but also essential for realizing the full potential of scientific communities worldwide and for orienting scientific progress towards meeting the needs of human kind."
