On 16 April 2024, the Open Book Collective (OBC) launched a call for applications for funding from the Collective Development Fund. The programme aims to support publishers, infrastructure providers and other organisations in increasing the quantity, quality and diversity of open access books. Grants from the Collective Development Fund of between £7,500 and £15,000 will be awarded for a period of 12 months. The deadline for submissions is 31 May 2024 and applicants have the opportunity to submit a brief summary of their project to the OBC by 10 May. The collective will then provide feedback on whether it fits into the funding programme. Applicants can submit their application in English, Portuguese or Spanish. The association plans to repeat the call for applications annually.
