Wiley extends open access agreement with Project DEAL

Veröffentlicht am

The academic publisher Wiley is extending its existing OA agreement with Project DEAL for another year. In what is now the fifth year of the collaboration, authors will be offered even more OA publishing opportunities with 240 additional journals, according to the publisher. In the past four years since the first agreement with DEAL, there has been a 1000 per cent increase in the number of OA publications by authors among the 900 participating institutions. In addition, 97 percent of eligible authors in Germany have taken advantage of the opportunity to publish their articles accepted in Wiley hybrid journals in open access.

Wiley's contract with Project DEAL is one of the publishing group's first transformative OA agreements. The publisher now has OA agreements with over 2,200 institutions in 23 countries. The publisher says it plans to fully transition its established journals to OA in the future.
