On July 30th, a new series of workshops on OA infrastructures for monographs in Europe started under the auspices of COPIM. The aim is to better understand the country-specific requirements for the collective financing of OA books from a library perspective.
The workshop Library Support for OA Books: the German perspective was jointly organised by COPIM, OPERAS-P and open-access.network and focused on the specifics of the OA publication landscape in Germany. Among other things, the workshop identified the main challenges in promoting initiatives related to Open Access monographs, highlighted the influence of federalism on the OA infrastructure and discussed how libraries in Germany decide which Open Access book initiatives to support.
