The future of science-led open access publishing

Veröffentlicht am

In science-driven publishing, publication infrastructures are organised by researchers, scientific institutions such as universities, non-university institutions or scientific societies. But what will the future of science-driven open access publishing look like?

In order to discuss the perspectives of publishing and to be able to jointly influence developments, the programme committee of the conference on Wissenschaftsgeleitetes Open-Access-Publizieren (science-led open access publishing) has presented a thesis paper (in German). The document contains ten theses on science-led OA publishing that address pragmatic issues such as strategies, financing and quality assurance, but also ethical aspects such as the commitment to the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science. The 100 participants of the satellite conference to the Open-Access-Tage 2023 will have the opportunity to discuss the theses together on 26 September 2023. The document can be commented on until 15 October 2023 and will then be published in a revised form.
