The Open-Access-Tage (Open Access Days) are the central annual conference on open access and open science in the German-speaking world. Under the title Shaping Visions, the Open-Access-Tage 2023 will be held from 27 to 29 September at the Freie Universität Berlin. Shaping Visions
20 years ago, the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities was published. Since then, open access has increasingly become an integral part of scientific practice and research-supporting work. This has been accompanied by the emergence of new job profiles, technologies, infrastructures and business areas. However, the process of transforming scholarly publishing is far from complete and the vision of a better, more efficient, fairer and inclusive scholarly publishing system is still relevant. Under this year's motto of the Open-Access-Tage, Shaping Visions, three focal points will receive special attention in the contributions and discussions:
- organisational forms and developments in scientific and cultural heritage institutions
- libraries' potential for shaping the publication market
- diversity of publication formats and workflows.
Submission deadline for posters and tool marketplace extended
The programme committee is accepting submissions for the poster session and the tool marketplace until 26 June. Posters are full conference contributions and can present current research results or projects on OA. All selected posters will be presented in a poster session during the conference. Poster submitters should be present during the conference to give conference participants an opportunity for discussion. The tool marketplace is a demo session for non-commercial software applications (preferably open source) related to OA. Tools will be presented briefly by the submitters in live demos, and then participants will be able to exchange ideas on possible applications and feedback.
