The Open Access Repository Ranking 2015 (repositoryranking.org) is now online - just in time for the start of the Open-Access-Tage (Open Access Days) conference.
This year's edition of the Open Access Repository Ranking (OARR) lists 181 OA repositories from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Repositories are the backbone of the national and global OA communities because they create the infrastructure needed to make scientific information available worldwide according to the principles of OA. OARR evaluates the repositories on the basis of a metric that is open and transparent and that undergoes continuous development in coordination with initiatives and organisations from the German and international OA communities. The aim of OARR is to make best practices visible, thereby supporting (prospective) repository operators in developing their repositories. Moreover, OARR offers research funders and scientists an overview of repositories and their services.
The three repositories with the highest scores are:
- The publication server of the University of Regensburg
- Econstor, the repository of the German National Library of Economics
- Open Access LMU, the repository of the University of Munich
