Some 250 people participated in the Open Access Days (OAD) which took place at the Freie Universitaet Berlin on 9 and 10 October. During the two-day event, the different ways of making knowledge openly accessible were dealt with comprehensively in talks and workshops, at a podium discussion and at an exhibition devoted to OA. The OAD 08 received initial media coverage from heise.de (on the workshop "Open Access to Data - A Challenge"), Deutschlandradio Kultur and Wisskomm Wochenschau.
