With an impact factor of 17.462, the OA journal Living Reviews in Relativity, which is published by the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute) in Potsdam, continues to rank first in the "Physics, Particles & Fields" category of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
Living Reviews in Solar Physics, which is published by the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Katlenburg-Lindau, was rated for the first time. With an impact factor of 12.500, it now ranks third in JCR's Astronomy & Astrophysics category.
The fact that Living Reviews in Relativity has risen to 54th place in JCR's complete list of 8000 indexed journals, and that Living Reviews in Solar Physics made it to 103rd place, testifies to the increasing importance of OA journals.
