The Munich Digitisation Centre (MDZ) is hosting a workshop on 4 March 2010 to introduce IMPACT (IMProving ACcess to Text), a project funded by the European Commission, and to address the many challenges posed by the conversion of print works into fully searchable electronic texts. The aim of the workshop is not only to demonstrate the advantages of optical character recognition (OCR) and full-text extraction for libraries, museums and archives, but also to present concrete application examples and to provide practical support for digitisation projects. The workshop will be conducted in German. Link to the event
