Veröffentlicht am

On 15 January 2025, the European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH) was officially launched in Madrid. The EDCH is a central reference point for diamond open access and is intended to promote cooperation between European institutions and services in the field of Diamond OA.

Aim, function and services

The main objective of the EDCH is to combine the strengths of local and disciplinary approaches with the synergy effects of centralised services, overarching standards and established publishing processes. The EDCH will be established as an umbrella for national and disciplinary Diamond Capacity Centres (DCC) in Europe. The EDCH offers the following services at the start:

  • Diamond Open Access Standard (DOAS): A best practice standard for diamond OA based on 58 authoritative guidelines and recommendations from the European Research Area.
  • Diamond Discovery Hub (DDH): A verification system for the diamond OA status of scientific journals.
  • EDCH Registry and Forum: A registry for services and a forum for the professional exchange and discussion of topics, tools and technologies.

Participation in EDCH

Publication services and service providers can register with the EDCH Registry and gain access to the forum. They can also improve their competences through training, tools and plugins and present their services to the community.
