In a press release on 10.12.2015, the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) announced that an agreement in principle had been reached at the licence negotiations with Elsevier. Within the framework of a three-year agreement on journal subscriptions, which is to come into effect in 2016, scientists in the Netherlands will be able to publish their work in open access in a selection of Elsevier journals.
