Call for online survey: UNESCO creates international Open Science Recommendation

Veröffentlicht am

UNESCO is looking for scientists, publishers, science policy makers or people with experience and interest in Open Science for its international online consultation. The consultation serves to gather input for the development of the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science. Contributions can be submitted in English, Spanish and French until 15 June 2020.

With its Recommendation on Open Science, UNESCO has set itself the goal of creating a globally uniform approach to Open Science. To this end, with its online consultation it wants to create an integrative, transparent and consultative process that involves all countries and all interest groups. Through the modalities of the consultation process, those responsible hope that UNESCO member states will accept the UNESCO Recommendation on OS in 2021.

The UNESCO recommendation is expected to define common values and principles for Open Science. It is also expected to identify tangible measures in the field of Open Access and Open Data, to bring citizens closer to science and to create commitments for better dissemination and production of science in the world.
