With the new “recht-offen” email list, the Law and Open Research Network is launching an open forum for discussing legal issues related to open research. The goal is to strengthen connections among stakeholders from academia, culture, the legal field, and open research practice, and to promote professional dialogue on legal challenges. You can subscribe to the list via the Freie Universität Berlin mailing list page: „recht-offen“ [German only].
Exchange and Networking via “recht-offen”
The focus is on legal issues related to open publication and research practices—such as copyright law, data protection law, or dealing with current regulatory developments like the AI Act or the Digital Services Act. The network aims to help reduce legal uncertainty and strengthen the exchange between legal and practical stakeholders. The mailing list is aimed, among others, at staff members of legal helpdesks, legal departments, counseling centers, research projects, and infrastructure institutions in academia and culture, as well as interested individuals.
Further Information
The network is a joint initiative of open-access.network and the Legal Helpdesk Berlin.
