OJS-de.net - new network for open access journals

Veröffentlicht am

The objective of the DFG-funded project "Sustainable OJS infrastructure for the electronic publication of scholarly journals" is to further establish the publishing software Open Journal Systems (OJS) in the German-speaking area. A large-scale usage survey gets underway in February 2015. Information on the project is now available via http://www.OJS-de.net/.

The objective of the DFG-funded project is to build a network of actors who provide services for OJS-based digital publishing, and to facilitate, further develop, and secure in the long term the OJS-based electronic publication of scholarly journals at German higher education institutions. During the project term (2014-2016), the software will be further optimised and adapted. Moreover, to enable the implementation of further improvements to the software, a needs analysis will be conducted during the first quarter of 2015, within the framework of which OJS users in the German-speaking area will be surveyed. Furthermore, an extensive information portal for scholars, scientists, and service institutions who use OJS is being created during the course of the project.

The project is being implemented by the Center for Digital Systems at the Freie Universität Berlin, Heidelberg University Library, and the Communication, Information, Media Centre (KIM) of the University of Konstanz. It is being funded within the framework of the German Research Foundation's (DFG) funding line "Scientific Library Services and Information Systems" (LIS). Software development is taking place in close consultation with the Public Knowledge Project.
