OA funding for FP7 projects

The European Commission has launched the FP7 post-grant Open Access Pilot within the framework of the EU-funded project OpenAIRE2020 to enable researchers to obtain funding for OA publications arising from FP7 projects after these projects have ended. The Commission is making funding in the amount of four million euros available for this purpose.

Overview of funding criteria

  • Publications arising from FP7 projects completed after 1 January 2013
  • Peer-reviewed articles in OA journals (gold OA), peer-reviewed OA book chapters or  monographs 
  • The work has not yet been published or the publication has not been paid for from the project budget. 
  • No funding for OA in hybrid journals
  • Funding amount: A maximum of 2,000 euros per research article or similar document types and 6,000 euros per monograph; a maximum of three publications per FP7 project
