The European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH) is strengthening the infrastructure for Diamond Open Access (OA) in Europe with the Registry, the Forum and a new Advocate Programme.
Registry: strengthening European diamond OA
The Registry is a publicly accessible directory for organisations that actively support diamond OA – including publishers, service providers and technology providers. It enables these organisations to make their expertise, services and technical solutions visible. The registry thus contributes to networking and strengthening the European diamond OA ecosystem. Criteria for inclusion include a focus on the common good, legal transparency and a connection to the European Research Area. Individual journals are not eligible for registration. Organisations can submit and update their profile themselves using an online form.
Networking at European level with the EDCH Forum
The new EDCH Forum is a multilingual, thematically structured space for discussion, exchange and peer counselling. Since May 2025, it has been aimed at stakeholders from the organisations in the registry or people who are otherwise involved in shaping the European diamond OA landscape. Questions, experience reports, ideas or contributions to discussions – all forms of participation are expressly welcome. The forum sees itself as an open space for professional exchange. It is constantly evolving with the active participation of the community.
Join the movement – Advocates wanted for EDCH services
To support its services, EDCH is currently looking for Advocates – diamond OA experts from libraries and research, among others, with experience in publishing in diamond OA. They will work flexibly over the course of a year: among other things, Advocates promote the Registry and Forum and create connections between EDCH services and their communities. Applications can be sent directly to Marion Paulhac, EDCH Community Manager, via private message in the forum until 14 July 2025. Interested parties must be registered in the forum.
