Elsevier boycott in the Netherlands

Veröffentlicht am

The Dutch universities have set themselves a clear objective - namely, to conclude so-called "big deals" with the major scholarly publishers only if these publishers move more towards open access during negotiations. As negotiations with Elsevier have not yielded results to date, the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) has called on scientists who are editors in chief with Elsevier journals to give up these posts. The next steps would be to recommend that scientists should no longer act as reviewers for Elsevier and to ask scientists to stop publishing in Elsevier journals.
