DFG joins SCOSS, a global initiative for the promotion of open science infrastructures

Veröffentlicht am

The German Research Foundation (DFG) has joined the Global Sustainability Coalition for Open Science Services (SCOSS), thereby supporting in the long term the operation of open science infrastructures, such as the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

Dr Angela Holzer (DFG) noted that the DFG considered the sustainability of essential open access infrastructures to be crucial for the future. The DOAJ had proved its worth as a very useful tool, not only for scientists and libraries but also for funding organisations and infrastructure providers. In the public interest, the DFG welcomed the transparent and sustainable development of the DOAJ.

About SCOSS
The Global Sustainability Coalition for Open Science Services (SCOSS) arose from science-driven efforts to support important open science infrastructures and to secure their long-term operation. At present, SCOSS supports the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and SHERPA RoMEO.
